Miley Cyrus vient de mettre fin à l’attente de ses fans. Plastic Heart, son septième album studio, sortira le 27 novembre. Après plusieurs
singles et l’annonce d’un projet d’EP en trois parties abandonné après la sortie de She is coming, l’artiste a finalement décidé de se lancer dans un album traditionnel.

Comme elle l’explique dans un post Instagram, ce Plastic Hearts a commencé à prendre forme « il y a plus de deux ans ». Alors qu’elle le pensait terminé, il a été « entièrement effacé (…) parce que tout a changé ».

If you’re reading this… know that I fucking love and appreciate you on the deepest level. I began this album over 2 years ago. Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record with its songs and sounds but my whole fucking life. But no one checks an ego like life itself. Just when I thought the body of work was finished… it was ALL erased. Including most of the musics relevance. Because EVERYTHING had changed. Nature did what I now see as a favor and destroyed what I couldn’t let go of for myself. I lost my house in a fire but found myself in its ashes. Luckily my collaborators still had most of the music that was burned up in journals and computers filled with songs for the EP series I was working on at the time. But it never felt right to release my “story” (each record being a continual autobiography) with a huge chapter missing. If it were a chapter in my book I guess I would call it “The Beginning” which usually when something is over we call it “The End”. But it was far from that. La vie de Miley Cyrus a en effet pris une toute autre tournure. Tout d’abord, la chanteuse a divorcé de Liam Hemsworth après moins d’un an de mariage et dix ans de relation plus ou
moins chaotiques. Mais ce n’est pas tout.

« Le commencement »

« La nature a fait ce que je vois maintenant comme une faveur à mon égard et a détruit ce que je n’arrivais pas à laisser partir. J’ai perdu ma maison dans les flammes mais je me suis trouvée dans les cendres », explique-t-elle également, en référence aux terribles feux qui ont ravagé la Californie en 2018.

Miley Cyrus ajoute que si ses « collaborateurs avaient gardé la plupart des musiques » qu’elle avait perdu dans l’incendie, « un grand chapitre manquait ». « Si c’était un chapitre de mon livre, je l’appellerai « Le commencement », alors que normalement, lorsque quelque chose se termine, on appelle cela « La fin ». Mais c’était loin d’être ça », conclut-elle.
